摘要:In order to efficiently manage temporal objects in multimedia database, especially to improve the performance of time retrieval, this paper presents an index mechanism based on time intervals. This kind of temporal index can support quick search of temporal objects in an arbitrary time interval, support many kinds of temporal relation operators, and support many time aggregation functions and temporal JOIN operations.
摘要:The development of information technology provides the accessibility to enormous numbers of multimedia objects, simple and complex. Indexing of multimedia objects has become a crucial issue. The variety of multimedia data model, the low efficiency of content based searching, and the lack of proper query language all have made multimedia indexing a difficult subject. The multimedia indexing project recently carried by the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK) has made a breakthrough in the related areas. The virtual database developed in the project provides users a tool to create and maintain a private view of interesting multimedia objects. The virtual database is organized in a hierarchical structure. The multimedia object references it stored are associated with a set of attributes called `cues' which are used in the browsing agent for constructing query conditions. The browsing agent performs the searching process on the user's behalf. Users first tell the agent how to find and recognize interesting objects, then set it going and control the query evaluation. The query specified by the user includes a framework, which plays the role of navigator in the evaluation process, and a collection of embedded queries. The browsing agent evaluates the query by checking the object cues stored in the virtual database and by calling individual external evaluators.
摘要:The collaborative authoring of multimedia documents poses some special requirements of the structure and synchronization of documents. In order to make the object oriented implement of these documents easy and multiple granularity sharing of them flexible, we propose here a synchronization model for complex distributed interactive multimedia document in collaborative authoring tools. This hierarchical mode consists of three layers: page, object group, and medium object layer. Considering the characteristics of these layer, the synchronization of them are of jump based, event based, and time based mode respectively.

摘要:The interactive properties of multimedia are accomplished by signaling system. In order to provide a perfect interactive operation, a powerful and complete signaling is necessary. At first, this paper discusses the structure of ATM signaling and analysis the properties of some multimedia and their request on interactive operation. Finally poses a design of the interactive multimedia signaling system on broadband AT M、LAN .
摘要:In this paper, the design ideas of teaching software for RS and GIS are discussed, and multimedia and hypermedia techniques are fully used to realize the top starting point. As a beginning, the work of this paper explored the reformation of the omnibearing, stereoscopic, and brand-new teaching means of 21st century, and promoted the spreading of the technoloy of RS and GIS.

摘要:In this paper the MMXTM technology recently developed by Intel is briefly introduced and an algorithm of edge extraction and crossing point extraction by using the MMXTM technology is presented. By taking advantage of technology supported by MMXTM the speed of edge extraction can be performed at the rate of 30 frames/s.
