    • Image Segmentation with wavelet Transform

      摘要:This paper proposes a new approach for image segmentation which utlizes the wavelet transform theory developed recently. It is based on wavelet transform of the histogram of an image. The mathematical analyses show the physical meaning of threshold obtained by this new method treating .Experimental results show that the proposed method robust and efficient for treating various types of comples images and is able to automatically determine the parameters.

    • Research on calculation Method of Fractal Dimension Based Topographic Data

    • A Fast Method for Detecting Facial Features under Varied Poses

      摘要:This paper presents a fast method for detecting the eyes and the mouth corners on a facial image with significantly varied head poses. The described scheme only reasonably assumes that the facial image should be thresheld well enough that the hair and eyes can be distinctly separated from the cheeks. It first detects the two irises by using the Hough Transform together with the constraints on the facial symmetry and similarity then roughly binds themouth region according to the anthropometric standards, and finally utilizes the integral projections to locate the two mouth corners. This method has been tested on more than 250 face pictures with different illuminating conditions and varied head poses, and showed a quite satisfactory performance both on speed and accuracy.

      摘要:On the basis of image gray value histogram processing by using exponent smoothing,the paper proposed an auto detection algorithm of thresholds and peaks in histogram.Experimental results show that simple algorithm,greater running speed and reasonable thresholds and peaks can be obtained with this method.

      摘要:This paper deals with the estimation of the theoretical and practical performance efficiency of a subband coding system for still images using memoryless quantizers optimized to entropy and mean-square error constraints. An approach with the concept of rate-distortion theory has allowed to derive a function in special form,which gives the performance gain in terms of signal-to-noise ratio and redundancy reduction. The theoretical upper bounds on entropy coded bit rate reduction were found to be 1.10; 1.51 and 2.10 bits per pixel for M = 4,7 and 16 subbands, respectively. Some simulation results concerning practical performance are presented and interpreted on test images.
