    • Implementation of PGIS:A Type of Post-WIMP User Interface

      摘要:In order to reduce the cognitive workload and operation difficulty, this paper utilizes an adaptive human computer interaction strategy based on context awareness, and analyzes its interaction mechanisms and visualizations. A new user interface model is proposed to guide the interface design and prototype development. The model defines different types of channels for context data acquiring, and describes the context information’s functions and logical structures. Adaptation triggering rules and controlling strategies are used to restrict the state transitions during the operation process. Interface modes and their transition functions are defined, and the related visualization presentations styles are described, such as reconstruction, replacement, geometry transition, filter and push. The model constructs the evaluation functions through the different metrics from the user feedback information, and it can help adjust and refine the adaptation mechanism. Finally, a prototype of adaptive user interface for mobile phone contact list is provided, and it supplies users with high efficiency and satisfactions during the user test. It illustrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed user interface model.

    • Research on Perceptual-control-based Design for User Interface

      摘要:With the soaring development of pervasive computing environment, an increasing number of folks need to conduct tasks that used to be completed with the help of business agents in the past. This makes traditional interactive design techniques of business orientation difficult to meet the common users’ usability requirements for the environment. In this paper, we present a design technique for user interfaces based on the perceptual control theory. It enables to provide usable user interfaces, which are easy to learn, to understand and to manipulate for the common users. For the purpose of satisfying the usability requirements in the pervasive computing environment, this design technique introduces a technique of task analysis in accordance with perceptual control theory and a process of participatory design, to help the users making interaction at the task level instead of at the business level.

    • Rapid Development Tool for Pen-based Application

      摘要:Visual PBAP (Pen-based Application) Creator is a rapid development tool, which Visual PBAP(Pen-based Application) Creator is a rapid development tool, which can be used to design and develop Pen-based Application according to end user’s specific requirement and can shorten the development cycle. On one hand, Visual PBAP Creator introduces scenario-based method and UI editor to facilitate the definition of requirement. On the other hand, it can automatically generate code to accelerate the development speed. Visual PBAP Creator is based on PBOP(Pen-based Operating Platform) and scenario-based method. The design results are saved as XML specification, and these XML files will be parsed to generator C code, which can be compiled and run on PBOP. The results of practices have shown that Visual PBAP Creator can improve the efficiency of development of Pen-based Application.

    • The Research of Pattern Language for GIS User Interface

      摘要:Some researchers have discussed pattern language for user interface. But no paper discusses the topic about pattern language for GIS user interface. This paper first discusses some issues about GIS user interface with pattern language. It builds framework of GIS user interface through pattern language and proposes four typical patterns, center-stage, head-up map, egocentric map and graduate circle. This is based on user cognitive and cartography theory, and way-finding and screen snap experiments.

    • Researches on Multimedia Technology in China, 2009

      摘要:As one of a serial of reports, this paper is a survey on multimedia researches and applications in China, 2009. Since multimedia is a cross research area, papers about multimedia technology are distributed on various journals. We checked 3023 papers published on 9 Chinese journals in 2009, from which we have selected 396 related to multimedia technology and application. Then we made analysis on them and the statistics were compared with those from 2005 to 2008. Considering the new feature of multimedia technology, we make serveral modifications to the categories of the papers for this year in order that the new categories can reflect the situation of multimedia technology in 2009 better and match its developing trend more exactly. Looking into the data, we can find that digital watermarking, multimedia data management and retrieval, multicast, interactive mode and interface, virtual reality interaction earn high attention of researchers in China. Meanwhile, multimedia application systems are diversified and intergraded with daily life gradually. We present here an overview on the progress in multimedia technology in China, 2009. This article can be used by researchers as a thoroughly references, and also will be helpful for people in technical planning and management.

      摘要:Subjective evaluation of compressed image quality on computer displays was studied, in order to realize quality evaluation of compressed images on the Internet. The relative studies include: to set-up displays, to put forward assessment scales for static compressed images based on the standard of subjective assessment of quality for color TV pictures, and to collect color images and establish a database for subjective evaluation. As an example for testing above studies, by using a psychophysical method of pairwise comparison, subjective evaluation experiments on optimal compression ratio of JPEG and JPEG2000 were conducted on displays for the images, which were from JPEG and lossy JPEG2000 with seven compression ratios. Ten subjects took part in the experiments, and 280 color images for 20 scenes with different contents were used. The experimental results showed that optimal compression ratio range of JPEG is from 20:1 to 25:1, and optimal compression ratio range of JPEG2000 is from 25:1 to 30:1. The experiments indicated that the display set-up by human eyes can achieve consistency for subjective evaluation of image quality on displays.

      摘要:Copy-transform-move forgery is a simple and powerful digital image forgery technique in which a region is copied and transformed and then pasted in another position on the same image. Copy-transform-move forgery defeats all existing copy-move forgery detection methods. The high resolution of forged images brings obstacles to existing exhaustive search based detection methods. In this paper, copy-transform-move forgery of high resolution color images is studied and a detection method based on image fusion and scale-invariant feature transform(SIFT) points is proposed. Firstly, the high-resolution image is down-sampled. Secondly, the proposed method fuses the multi-channel down-sampled image information into a single gray-level image. Then a fast matching method is designed to find matching SIFT points in the fused images. The forged regions grow up stepwise based on an appropriate region growing strategy with matching SIFT points as “seed-points”. The method is tested using man-made high-resolution forgery images and doubtful news pictures. Experiment results show that the method is robust to common retouch tools, brightness adjustments and lossy compression.

    • A Self-Embedding Watermarking Algorithm Based on SPIHT Coding

      摘要:Considering the problem that the current self-embedding watermarking algorithms are insufficient on detail-preserving, an integer wavelet transform combined with SPIHT algorithm is employed to implement a self-embedding watermarking algorithm for image content authentication. Wavelet transform can overcome the defect of Discrete Cosine Transform on image compression. And the characteristic of wavelet transform coefficients is taken into account, compression performance is enhanced and more image information is included of equivalent embedding capacity. In this way the watermarked image possesses not only good perceptual transparence but also better self-recovering capability compared with traditional techniques. For the SPIHT algorithm is an embedded coding algorithm, it can adjust the size of watermarking to change the embedding intensity according to the actual situation, which cannot be held by other methods. And Logistic map and cat map increase the security and ability of tamper localization of watermark. Finally, experimental results show the efficiency of the algorithm.

    • Techniques of CDS Noise Filtering in Staring Infrared Imaging System

      摘要:Fixed pattern noise, an inherent noise of infrared focal plane array (IRFPA), is serious in the low-temperature scene and affects detector imaging quality. The influence of Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) to the nonuniformity in IRFPA is theoretically analyzed based on the structure of internal readout circuit, moreover, the space and time distribution features of CDS noise are described according to simulation data. Aiming at these features, a noise filtering algorithm using the combination of iterative theory and blackbody calibration is proposed. Experimental results show the proposed algorithm can effectively eliminate CDS circuit noise, increase nonuniformity correction precision and have strong utility value.

    • A Novel Image Scene Classification Method Based on Category Topic Simplex

      摘要:The paper presents a novel model named Category Topic Simplex-Latent Dirichlet Allocation(CTS-LDA) based on extending LDA(Latent Dirichlet Allocation), which is used to learn and recognize natural scene category. Unlike previous work, our model can absorb category information in the model inference under learning process to produce its semantic simplex for each category scene. As a result, each category has its own semantic topic simplex, and each image can choose its simplex to denote, which is consistent with people’s cognitive pattern. In previous work, recognizing scene category task need to resort to additional classifier after getting images topic representation. Our method can use ML method to recognize image category during the same time of getting topic representation. Furthermore, we also analyze the influence of the topic size in our model, and infer the fittest result to produce the best performance. We investigate the classification performance under changed scene category tasks. The experiments have demonstrated that our model can perform better with less training data than other methods.

      摘要:Image’s texture feature detection has many applications in the pornographic images monitoring and web images filtering. This paper described the methods of texture analysis and the texture characteristics of the skin, then gave the texture detection method based on gray level co-occurrence matrix. Through the experiments, the paper inferred the key parameters of the grey level number and the offset value in the grey level co-occurrence matrix computing. The experiment conclusion shows that contrast and energy are the best texture indexes which could distinguish the skin area and non-skin area.

    • An Algorithm Based on Codebook Model to Moving Objects Detection

      摘要:In this paper an algorithm of moving objects detection in video image was proposed, which is based on the background codebook model. In this algorithm, normalized Mann-Whitney rank-sum test was used to adjust the detection threshold of codebook model, and Mean Shift was also used to update the code and variance. So this algorithm can achieve the updating of codebook model and the detection of moving objects at the same time. The experimental results show that based on the distribution independence of Mann-Whitney rank-sum test this method can detect the moving objects efficiently under different conditions.

      摘要:For the measurement of complicated deep hole profile, both eddy current method and ultrasonic method characterize low accuracy, at the same time, optical scanning with single light point has low efficiency. A 3D measurement system based on ring-structured-light is presented which characterizes high accuracy and processing speed. A data processing method using FFT analysis and difference analysis has been proposed. The system consists of a ring-structured-light generator, a reflection cone mirror, an imaging cone mirror, an optical lens, and a CCD camera. Firstly, we capture a structured-light image of the measured inner surface and extract the stripe center locus of it. Then we find the center of the stripe center locus by curve fitting using the least squares method. Subsequently, we stretch the stripe center image from its center point. In the waveform of the stretch-out-view, there exist eccentricity error and ellipse shape error. The frequencies of these two periodical error components are different from the frequency constitution of the detail component. We can separate them from the waveform with the help of FFT analysis. Therefore the eccentricity error and the ellipse error can be minimized and the accuracy of the system is improved greatly. Difference analysis was used to remove the transition line between the exterior circle and the inner circle. The method can improve both the accuracy and the efficiency of the inner surface parameters measuring. Experiments show that the diameter measuring accuracy can get 0.05mm.

      摘要:As opposed to per-pixel classification, the selection of training samples is different in object-oriented method. Based on statistical theory, the number of training samples required in object-oriented classification is studied in this paper. First,feature space analysis of images is implemented in object-oriented classification, which shows that the number of training samples needed for object-oriented classification is much less than that in per-pixel classification. Then, an experiment of remote sensing image classification is carried out to verify the authenticity based on the relations between samples and bands.

      摘要:At present, there has been many researches on airport detection, but most of them are about infrared or optical images, and the research about synthetic aperture radar(SAR)images are mostly focusing on small scale instances. Aiming at large-scale SAR image with high resolution, a new method was proposed based on the existing detection scheme. Firstly, pre-process is implemented on the image. Then suspicious regions of interesting(ROI)are extracted from the pre-process result. Finally, all ROIs are identified by using four features and binary decision tree. Experiments show that the method can satisfy the request of speed with high detection accuracy.

    • Study on Data Quality Evaluation of Vector Map Watermarking

      摘要:Quality of the watermarked data is an important metric for measuring the invisibility of the watermark and the validity of the marked data. Some energy based metrics, e.g. peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR), have some limitations while applied to vector map watermarking systems. This paper considered this issue in the aspect of map shape. The idea of time series clustering and shape similarity matching techniques has been used and the watermarked-map quality measurement based on distance metric is presented. The proposed algorithm extracts 1D feature functions from 2D vector maps and evaluates the quality of the watermarked data by measuring the shape difference between two feature functions before and after watermark embedding. Experiment results indicate that the proposed metric fits the characteristic of vector map data better and, furthermore, it can achieve more reasonable measuring results than previous methods.
