The design technologies of Multimeda Simulation(MS) environment for structure engineering were presented in this paper. MS system is different from traditional simulation system in the sense that the user can work with a fully simulated

animated multimedia demonstration for what will occur on the proposed works. The MS is an improvement in the means of model expanding

parameter inputing

behavior controling and displaying etc. The concept of multimedia simulation and the corresponding environment were introduced. Special attention was focused on the main technologies and basic tools to buil the environment. The system can be used to simulate the engineering mechanics field

structure behaviors and other related areas animatedly.
